Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Testing and Instrumentation Project Engineer in Charlotte, NC to set up and commission non-contact blade vibration measurement systems to monitor and analyze blade vibrations during the commissioning of power plants

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Perform parametrization of measurement systems.
  • Handle online monitoring of blade vibrations during commissioning and backpressure variation testing, assess blade vibration measurement data and parameterize measurement systems.
  • Carry out function and signal tests for measurement equipment and ensure safe plant operation with regard to blade vibrations during commissioning and backpressure excursion testing.
  • Document all the testing records and troubleshoot all data acquisition equipment.
  • 40% domestic travel required.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience.
  • Will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • Full term of experience must include: tip timing software knowledge;
  • Data acquisition troubleshooting techniques;
  • Probe manufacturing;
  • Data acquisition operations;
  • Thermal crystal temperature measurements;
  • Dynamic data acquisition;
  • Instrumentation repair techniques; and
  • Project management skills.
  • 40% domestic travel required.
