Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Major Projects Project Manager in Orlando, FL to serve as a Project Manager for the Heavy Lifts Support Group for North America.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Oversee the technical, financial, and completion of major component exchanges throughout North America.
  • Lead the initiation, planning and execution of assigned projects.
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects involving cross functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Perform data management and tracking related to major campaign projects for conventional and crane less type exchanges, and on all SGRE platform types.
  • Accountable for schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements related to specific work scopes.
  • Act as a key customer interface and coordinate work activities with Siemens Gamesa internal partners in the Region and Globally.
  • Stay within set target times or budgets for execution of main component exchanges or campaigns.
  • Monitor and report progress of defined targets to the Heavy Lifts Support Group Manager.
  • Initiate project or program activities kick off meeting scheduling risk analysis budget resource allocation utilizing PM best practices.
  • 25% domestic/international travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: project scheduling and budgeting including creation, management and tracking of project schedules and budgets using tools like MS Project or Excel;
  • Understanding of wind turbine components (e.g., blades, main shafts, gearboxes) and technical processes involved in replacement;
  • Coordinating crane mobilization and lift plans for major turbine components;
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to safety, logistics, and weather in field operations;
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards governing wind energy and construction sites;
  • Generate and interpret technical reports, site documentation, and data logs;
  • Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI for project management and communication;
  • Leading or collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
  • 25% domestic/international travel required.
