A Snapshot of Your Day
This position is an addition to the team to ensure business continuity within the Wind Power Onshore North America Project Management organization. The role is critical for providing uninterrupted quality of service to wind power customers by managing on-site project inventory and logistics for wind turbine assembly. To meet this objective, the role is structured around three core areas: On-Site Inventory & Materials Management, Logistics & Tooling Coordination, and Site Operations & Training. This focus ensures all parts, tools, and materials are tracked, mobilized, and managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle, from initial deployment to returns and reporting. Given the focus on inventory systems, logistics, and on-site training, the ideal candidate will possess experience in materials handling and inventory control systems like SAP. Strong communication skills, physical capability for site work, and the ability to train others are essential for success in this para-professional role. This position requires 100% travel to various sites.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- On-Site Inventory & Materials Management: Manage the project's inventory of small parts required for wind turbine assembly, maintaining an accurate list of missing or lost items. Order additional materials and replacement parts through SAP and the Siemens Gamesa Workspace system. Manage the process for resolving material discrepancies and damages using site observation notices and the non-conformance (NCR) system. Assist site staff in identifying parts by part number for customer delivery or to facilitate purchase order creation in SAP. Coordinate parts usage and failure rates with Commissioning leads to proactively order necessary components.
- Logistics & Tooling Coordination: Coordinate the mobilization of all materials, parts, and tooling for a project site in collaboration with the Project Engineer and Tooling Warehouses. Manage the packing and coordination of all Transportation Equipment (TEQ) returns for export to international locations. Supervise the coordination with transportation providers for returning empty shipping containers to designated ports or depots. Track tooling on-site against project timelines and budgets, reporting on a monthly basis.
- Site Operations, Training & Reporting: Supervise and train workers in company procedures for inventorying materials and tooling for wind turbine erection. Train employees in the use of Siemens Gamesa Workspace and SAP for material management functions. Demonstrate and enforce procedures for tracking and reporting all faulty components to the management team.Adhere to all safety standards, including the physical ability to use step ladders and lift up to 50 lbs in remote locations.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate's degree or vocational training in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in materials handling, inventory control, or warehouse operations, preferably in an industrial or project-based environment.
- Forklift Certification and SAP preferred
- Supply Chain Management: Inventory Control, Warehouse Management Systems, SAP Applications
- Technical Abilities: Record Keeping, Data Entry, Troubleshooting (Problem Solving), Hand Tools
- Health and Safety Standards

This role may be based in various locations across the United States. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $58,000 to $96,000 annually.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
