A Snapshot of Your Day
Manage the scope, schedule, and cost of repair projects in execution at the Houston Service Center. Create inspection reports and repair proposals for steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, safety valves, and other related turbomachinery equipment. Serve as clients’ direct point of contact while repairs are ongoing at the service center. Work alongside a team of mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers, and project managers in the repair of critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities, hospitals, and mechanical contractors.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage the scope, schedule, and cost of repair projects at the Houston Service Center, including creating inspection reports and repair proposals for turbomachinery overhauls.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, leading kickoff meetings and executing project communication plans with regular updates.
- Act as a liaison between clients and Siemens Energy stakeholders, collaborating with internal partners to gather updates on parts and third-party services, and escalating issues as necessary.
- Review contractual terms and support shop personnel in executing inspection and repair activities, providing clear work instructions referencing technical specifications.
- Monitor job costs closely to ensure adherence to budget and compliance with client and internal quality standards, while maintaining an accurate project risk register and forecasts.
- Promote a culture of safety within the Service Center by supporting safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions to leadership.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree (Business or Engineering) or related field required or equivalent technical studies from an accredited university or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years’ experience with rotating and/or reciprocating equipment repairs (steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, turbochargers, valves, dry gas seals), manufacturing environment, or quoting hrs. and resources for repair scopes is required. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
- Proven ability to manage project life cycles and costs, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook; adaptable to fast-paced environments.
- Experience in organizations with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Quality standards.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime to support client outages, demonstrating strong project management skills and a team player attitude.
- Ability to interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings, with a teachable attitude, humility to accept constructive criticism, and a strong work ethic focused on excellence and high-quality standards. Willingness to travel to client sites (10%)
