A Snapshot of Your Day

A day in the life of an Apprentice involves a balanced schedule of approximately 2.5 days in school to pursue a Machinist associate degree and 2.5 days in the shop to learn machining fundamentals. The Apprentice follows a structured curriculum to track progress, verifies work through electronic quality instruction sheets, and communicates any missing components to supervisors or mentors. Weekly reports are submitted to the training department detailing accomplishments from both school and work. At the end of each shift, the Apprentice cleans the workspace and provides instructions to the next shift while gaining valuable experience in diverse teams. Additionally, the Apprentice offers guidance and training to fellow apprentices, ensuring they demonstrate the key responsibilities and knowledge required for the role

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • In the 2nd year, you will be assigned to a larger machine and begin learning the details about how to work safely and efficiently as you continue to take classes.
