Over de functie
The Product Lifecycle office is responsible for SGT 600-800 products during the whole product life cycle, from development to long term service maintenance. This includes product support, RCA, Fault report responsibility, and third level customer support for technical issues. We are also accountable for customer communication strategy related to product information.
As a thesis student for Technical Investigations, you will get a unique opportunity to work with high impact AI problem-solving.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Join Siemens Energy’s Gas Services division as a master thesis student developing a next generation chatbot for root cause analysis (RCA).
- Collaborate with experts in compressors, turbines, and material domains to design digital personas and agents that support engineers in solving complex technical problems.
- Apply AI-driven picture recognition to automate evidence gathering and fault identification from images.
What You Bring
You will be a part of shaping future recommendations for a problem-solving chatbot for technical investigations. We encourage candidates to provide feedback on how they would like to design their thesis work within the scope of our objectives, allowing for a collaborative and tailored experience.
- Flexibility to shape your thesis work, depending on which functions this problem-solving chatbot will have.
- Currently pursuing studies within Generative AI or related fields.
- Be part of developing a chatbot that guides users through RCA steps (e.g., 8D, A3, 5-Why) and adapts its advice based on the selected expert persona (compressor, turbine, material).
- Be part of integrating picture recognition to allow users to upload photos of damaged components, with the chatbot assisting in fault classification and linking to relevant RCA cases.
- Be part of implementing agent-based architecture, enabling the chatbot to simulate different expert perspectives and provide tailored recommendations.
About the Team
Here you will join a team that today consists of 12 committed colleagues. We are on an exciting journey where we both are growing in numbers and developing our competences and way of doing.
A big focus is to develop new tools to reduce the leadtime for investigations, like generative AI.
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
