A Snapshot of Your Day
The qualified candidate will work on a global team engineering team designing and manufacturing world class turbo generators. Located at our Siemens Energy Hub located Charlotte, NC, the candidate will develop engineering solutions to elevate machine performance, efficiency and customer experience. Development and optimization of existing technologies and methods in the area supporting decarbonization & decentral energy supply are further job highlights.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Performs electrical design of generator components, evaluation of overall electrical performance including electromagnetic and thermal design and analysis.
- Performs calculations utilizing internal tools for electrical and thermal design including ventilation.
- Develops internal design tools and new computer programs.
- Provides technical support for tendering/sales and multiple engineering interfaces.
- Provides technical support for the manufacturing sites, particularly in the area of electrical testing of turbo generators and components.
What You Bring
- BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. MSEE or PhD a plus.
- A strong core curriculum in electrical engineering with experience in electric rotating machine design. Ability to apply those concepts and experience in the development of the next generation of Siemens Energy generators.
- Knowledge about Office 365- tool set, skilled programmer in Python, FORTRAN and C++.
- Experience in Matlab Simulink and MathCad.
- Experience in Ansys Electromagnetic Suite & Ansys EMAG or other simulation software to evaluate and design the electromagnetic parameters of electrical machines.
- Ability to travel for collaboration with international teams and partners (less than 10%)
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
