A Snapshot of Your Day

You will take ownership of a global commodity strategy for electrical components used in industrial steam turbine solutions, working across Siemens Energy locations such as Brno, Görlitz, Nuremberg, Erfurt, India, and Brazil. Your day will combine strategic supplier management, technical discussions, and international collaboration—whether from the office, home, or on-site with suppliers. You will engage with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to define optimal sourcing strategies and ensure the best technical and commercial outcomes. Your work will directly shape supplier selection, project success, and cost optimization, in a highly visible role where you present to senior management and act as a key expert within a global team built on trust, ownership, and strong collaboration.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define and implement a global sourcing strategy for electrical components (instrumentation, control systems, generators, cabling, etc.) across STG locations.
  • Lead supplier selection, development, and contracting, ensuring best-in-class technical and commercial solutions.
  • Conduct complex negotiations (pricing, capacity, contracts) with international suppliers and partners.
  • Act as the key expert for your commodity, aligning technical requirements with procurement strategies across projects.
  • Drive cost optimization and bundling initiatives across regions while ensuring quality and delivery performance.
  • Perform market analyses and supplier evaluations to continuously improve sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (engineering, quality, manufacturing) and globally with stakeholders and procurement teams.
  • Represent your area in front of senior management, presenting strategies, decisions, and results.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering or Business with strong technical affinity, ideally in electrical systems or energy industry.
  • Several years of experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, or project engineering within industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components and systems (e.g. instrumentation, generators, control systems, cabling, power distribution).
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and influence stakeholders—including in complex, international environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams and managing global suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and build strategies from scratch in a greenfield role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel globally (~50%); Czech is a strong advantage.
