A Snapshot of Your Day

You will collaborate with teammates in a safe, comfortable, climate-controlled environment to manufacture parts for large generators. The primary responsibility of this position is to fabricate components by following blueprints and instructions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met. Operate machines, including setup and adjustments.
  • Utilize hand tools for various tasks such as building, forming, bending, punching, grinding, cutting, brazing, buffing, and welding.
  • Employ testing, electrical, and measurement equipment. Lift and transport parts and components to different areas or machines.
  • Apply solutions to parts as per instructions. Use appliances, such as ovens, to bake and cure parts. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, engineering specifications, and work package information to determine required operations.
  • Assemble and install parts according to instructions.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues (e.g., undercut, porosity, lack of fusion) and determine optimal welder settings. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment, including daily cleaning of your area.

What You Bring

·         Experience level is early professional; manufacturing experience is a plus but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

  • ·         Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English is essential to understand job instructions, follow warnings and safety signage, and communicate effectively through written work instructions and team communications.
  • ·         Moderate Computer Skills

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Certifications

  • AWS GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) certification required including - 
  • Successfully pass the 1G t-joint visual/bend test.
  • Successfully pass the 4-G t-joint 10x microscopic test

About the Team  

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
