This role is a headcount addition for a Stator Final Assembler on the Second Shift team within the CoC Stator manufacturing unit. The position is required to support the final assembly operations for large generators, ensuring production capacity meets business demands. To meet this objective, the role focuses on three core areas: hands-on mechanical assembly of large generator components, proficient operation of industrial tools and material handling equipment, and strict adherence to safety and quality documentation protocols. This structure ensures all aspects of the assembly process are covered, from component fitting to final safety checks. Given the focus on industrial assembly, the ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with several years of industrial-mechanical experience. Key requirements include proficiency with shop tools, the ability to use precision measuring equipment, and the physical capacity to handle materials and obtain necessary equipment licenses.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 50% Mechanical Assembly
- Assemble generator components such as the rotor to the core, bearings, and pedestals according to specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to verify that parts and assemblies meet quality standards and engineering requirements.
- Learn and master all operational steps, tools, and equipment involved in the stator final assembly process.
- 30% Tool and Equipment Operation
- Select and proficiently use a variety of shop tools including grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, and wrenches to complete assembly tasks.
- Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes to safely move and position heavy materials and generator components within the manufacturing environment.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- 20% Safety and Documentation
- Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques for materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Complete simple forms and production records accurately, applying basic math skills as needed.
- Participate in required safety training and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Certifications
- Fork Truck Operator License (must be obtainable)
- Overhead Crane Operator License (must be obtainable)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4 or more years of industrial-mechanical experience is preferred.
- Must be able to pass hearing and vision tests as a condition of employment.
