This role is being created as a replacement within the Data Models & Analytics team to ensure continuity in the digital transformation of Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies manufacturing network. The position is critical for developing and maintaining low-code applications that support process digitalization across more than 30 global factories. To meet these objectives, the role focuses on three core areas: hands-on Mendix Application Development for creating scalable solutions, driving Digital Transformation & Process Optimization to enhance efficiency, and providing Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management to ensure alignment with business needs and promote best practices. Given the focus on building and scaling digital solutions, the ideal candidate will possess extensive professional experience in Mendix development, supplemented by Java skills. A strong background in agile methodologies, enterprise system integration (e.g., SAP, Azure), and effective stakeholder collaboration within a global context is essential for success.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 50% Mendix Application Development & Integration
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end Mendix applications based on business requirements from various domains such as production, sales, and quality.
- Utilize Mendix Studio Pro for domain modeling, creating microflows/nanoflows, and designing user interfaces (UI/UX).
- Integrate Mendix applications with enterprise systems, including SAP and Microsoft Azure services, using RESTful APIs and other web services.
- Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of applications for deployment across a global manufacturing network.
- 30% Digital Transformation & Process Optimization
- Drive the low-code transformation by converting existing visualization tools into fully functional smart applications.
- Apply the organization's digitalization methodology to digitalize and improve workflows in key business areas.
- Continuously analyze and optimize application, value, and process chains to build a more transparent, agile, and efficient organization.
- Automate manual processes through the development of intuitive digital tools that support operational excellence.
- 20% Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with business units and stakeholders across 30+ factories to define requirements and manage expectations.
- Act as a role model for Mendix best practices, facilitating global adoption and contributing to the developer community.
- Create a network of Mendix Developers in the GT factories to scale exisiting solutions globally
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including application testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement activities.
- Influence business decisions by recommending operational strategies and plans for digitalization with direct impact on results.
Certifications
- Mendix Advanced Developer Certification
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical field.
- Extensive professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on the Mendix low-code platform.
- Proven experience in developing and deploying applications in a large, international manufacturing or enterprise environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a strong asset.
