A Snapshot of Your Day

As S4 Program Risk & Issue Management Lead (m/f/d), you will play a key strategic leadership role in ensuring the successful execution of the S4E transformation. You will design and steer a program wide risk and issue management capability, enabling predictable delivery across a complex, multi year transformation.

Operating at program leadership level within the PMO, you will work closely with Integrated Program Planning (IPP), Factory Leads, and Rollout Management. Your mandate is to ensure that risks, issues, and interdependencies are identified early, assessed consistently, escalated transparently, and actively mitigated across all factories and rollout clusters.

By tightly connecting risks with milestones, quality gates, and the Integrated Program Plan, you will enable fact based decision making, support executive steering, and safeguard delivery commitment in a highly interdependent environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Establish, operate and continuously improve the S4E risk and issue management framework, ensuring consistent identification, classification, escalation and mitigation across rollouts and factories.
  • Embed risks and issues directly into the Integrated Program Plan (IPP) and milestone structure, ensuring clear traceability between risks, dependencies, quality gates, PM milestones and delivery commitments.
  • Act as the central coordination point for cross factory and cross rollout risks, ensuring handover related, dependency driven and systemic risks are jointly addressed by Solution-, Test-, Data Migration-, Change-Factory and Rollout teams.
  • Provide consolidated, decision ready risk and issue views for Program Leadership and Steering Committee, including trend analysis, impact assessment, mitigation status and escalation proposals where thresholds are exceeded.
  • Drive early risk detection through leading indicators, milestone readiness and delivery signals; challenge risks and optimistic assumptions and support Program Leadership with fact based scenarios and preventive actions.
  • The role has the mandate to challenge delivery assumptions, require mitigation commitments, and trigger escalation where program thresholds are exceeded.
What You Bring
  • University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a comparable discipline
  • Extensive experience in risk management, PMO leadership, or large scale program delivery
  • Proven involvement in SAP S/4HANA or complex ERP transformation programs, ideally within multi cluster or industrialized rollout environments
  • Strong command of program governance models, milestone structures, quality gates, and integrated planning (IPP)
  • Hands on experience with structured risk tooling and enterprise level risk registers
  • Highly developed analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex risk landscapes into crisp, executive level insights
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, including confident interaction with senior leadership and executive forums. The role requires professional skepticism, resilience, and the ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively while maintaining trust-based relationships.
