A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Power Turbine Repair and Overhaul Manager, you will be a partner and work closely with the IPS team and the greater Siemens Energy service centers in the repair and overhaul of Dresser-Rand Legacy Power Turbines specifically the Vectra, DR61, GT61, and DJ270 power turbines while also overseeing PGT25 power turbines. You will manage and coordinate with key suppliers in the repair and upgrades of the PT. This includes being responsible for receipt of all material coming back from repair ensuring cost is allocated to the correct work orders.  A core responsibility will be to analyze the economics of whether to purchase new parts or repair brown parts within the engines. You will be responsible for the repair management of numerous power turbines while also working with salespeople to sell brown parts and exchanges into the market. This position will be working directly and lead with the Power Turbine Technical Lead position who will travel to the site in assisting the direction and training of the repair of the power turbines.  This position requires domestic and international travel.  The position will also be responsible in ensuring quality processes are implemented into the service facilities as well.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Review and control turbine repair costs, making strategic repair vs. replacement decisions to ensure cost efficiency and asset reliability.
  • Analyze turbine components to determine optimal repair, replacement, or remanufacturing approaches that maximize operational availability.
  • Plan and prioritize refurbishment schedules for Gas Generators, Gas Turbines, and Power Turbines based on performance needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure all refurbishment activities comply with Environmental Health and Safety guidelines and CE certification standards.
  • Partner with suppliers, internal service centers, and project managers to deliver high-quality overhaul projects on scope, within budget, and on time.
  • Inspect components, materials, and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications, quickly addressing quality issues in collaboration with suppliers and production teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field, and bring 8+ years’ experience working with aeroderivative gas turbines or high-speed power turbines. Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED and strong, hands-on expertise in turbine repair and overhaul.
  • Advanced technical expertise in aeroderivative gas turbines, quality control, and repair/overhaul processes.
  • Proven skills in project lifecycle management, supplier relationship management, and negotiation.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Willing to travel 50% domestically and internationally. Internal applicants will not require relocation and would be eligible to work from their current Siemens Energy office.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
