A Snapshot of Your Day

 

The Head of Service Engineering and Customer Technical Support will lead a team of application and service engineers who coordinate with the design team, project engineering team, materials engineering team, 3rd party packagers, operators, and the Siemens Energy regional teams to support the SGT-A05, Small Engine Business. The primary focus of this position is providing the leadership to the technical support team for SGT-A05 new equipment packagers and a global fleet of SGT-A05 (Industrial 501K) Aero-derivative Gas Turbines. This position will manage the day-to-day technical issues that impact the affected regions and provide technical support for new equipment bids. The SGT-A05 engine business is located in Indianapolis, IN and reports through the Aero-derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) product line within the Gas Services division.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide daily technical support to customers
  • Manage customer support programs and campaigns
  • Manage the monitoring of field service evaluations
  • Support incident investigations on engines/hardware
  • Support new engine sales
  • Review technical requirements (fuel, emissions, performance, etc.)
  • Conduct Installation Design Reviews (IDRs) for sold projects


What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Technology
  • Ability to resolve complex, technical problems and implement corrective actions
  • Financial and business acumen relative to Warranty & Policy, commercial settlements, and technical business issues
  • 10+ years of experience with rotating equipment and gas turbine engines
  • Previous management of personnel
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25%
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

The Small Engine Business has a legacy dating back seventy years with our core product being the power plant for the original Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules transport that first flew in 1953. The Small Engine Business continues to evolve with ongoing multi-million-dollar R&D programs that will ensure the product will be in service in fifty years’ time.

 

With a solid history and even brighter future, there has been no better time than now to join this small, entrepreneurial team in Indianapolis.

 

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
