Snapshot Of Your Day

As a Commodity Manager for Machining and Machined Parts, you will lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management activities within a global environment. You will define and implement commodity strategies, drive cost optimization initiatives, and manage key supplier relationships while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. Your role will directly impact supply security, competitiveness, and long-term supplier performance across international markets.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  •  Define and implement the global purchasing and supplier strategy for machining commodities, leveraging bundling potential and procurement levers
  •  Manage and steer vendor management activities in collaboration with cross-functional and global procurement teams
  •  Lead price, capacity, and contract negotiations, including final contract execution
  •  Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuously optimize purchasing processes across locations and regions
  •  Conduct complex national and international market analyses (supplier, demand, and market evaluations)
  •  Ensure supply performance, risk mitigation, and long-term strategic supplier development

What You Bring
  •  Completed technical or commercial degree with several years of experience in purchasing or supplier management
  •  Strong negotiation experience and cross-functional collaboration background (manufacturing, engineering, quality, etc.)
  •  Knowledge of contract law and purchasing-related project management
  •  Understanding of local and international machining markets, material standards, and ability to read technical drawings
  •  Fluency in English (German is an advantage) and confident use of MS Office tools
  •  Willingness to travel (20–30%) combined with strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
