A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our R&D team as a Structural Dynamics Engineer and help shape the future of energy technology by designing robust, reliable, and highly efficient gas turbines, heat pumps, and steam turbines. You will drive innovation and technology in your field, challenging yourself and your colleagues to deliver solutions that support a more sustainable world. Every day, you will contribute to the development of products that power industries and communities, ensuring their structural integrity and performance. Step into a role where your expertise directly impacts the energy transition and the reliability of tomorrow’s power generation.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead structural dynamics assessments throughout the development process, from concept to prototyping and final design, and support root cause analyses.
  • Conduct High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) lifing assessments using modal analysis to maximize component reliability and structural integrity.
  • Evaluate measurement data from strain gauge, tip timing, accelerometer, among others, to inform design decisions. Possibility to perform experimental and operational modal analysis.
  • Explore and implement optimization tools and develop new methods to enhance R&D effectiveness in line with Siemens Energy’s vision.
  • Collaborate closely with design, mechanical integrity, heat transfer, testing, and other departments, to deliver innovative cross-disciplinary solutions.
  • Pursue developments in the field of non-linear structural dynamics and explicit dynamics.

What You Bring

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have hands-on experience in structural dynamics, stress, and life evaluations. Experience in contact mechanics (damping, fretting, and/or rubbing) is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Finite Element Methods (FEM).
  • Experience with explicit dynamics or NVH is meritorious.
  • Strong proficiency in FEM tools, preferably Abaqus and HyperMesh.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for example Python, MatLab, Fortran, etc.
  • You are a motivated problem solver and an active, collaborative teammate who thrives on finding answers and driving effective teamwork.
  • You are proficient in English; Swedish language skills are an advantage.

About the Team

You will join a diverse R&D group of 23 highly skilled engineers specializing in aeromechanics, aerodynamics, solid mechanics, structural dynamics, and rotor dynamics. Our team is recognized for its deep expertise and commitment to continuous learning, always challenging ourselves and each other to stay at the forefront of technology. As part of the Gas Services division, we focus on low-emission power generation, decarbonization, and modernization of turbines and generators. Together, we deliver innovative solutions that support a cleaner, more reliable energy future.
