A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The Pittsburgh Service Center (PSC) Tool Depot Operations Manufacturing Professional position (also known informally as a “Tool Engineer” role) is required to provide effective interfacing and direct support to internal customers to meet field service tooling demands and other specialty needs.  This dynamic and fast-paced role is responsible to receive, track, and complete TCTP tooling orders and specialty tooling requests for internal Siemens Product Lines.  Effectively, tool depot “Tool Engineers” own the order fulfillment side of the tool depot operations.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

·         Manage tooling needs using Siemens TCTP, overseeing inventory, order fulfillment, and administrative system updates

·         Own and direct tool depot operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery for standard, specialty, and emergency orders

·         Collaborate closely with shop-floor technicians, tool engineers, product lines, and operations management to prioritize and fulfill orders

·         Coordinate domestic and international shipments, working directly with shipping and internal teams to meet critical deadlines

·         Communicate proactively with internal and external customers regarding order status, shortages, exceptions, and emergency needs

·         Drive workflow improvements, support digital/paperless operations, update procedures, and provide after-hours and on-call support as required

What You Bring (requirements)

·         BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Direct experience with field service tooling for Generator Service (GS) and Turbine Service (TS) product lines

·         Strong knowledge of TGSS specialty tooling GS and TS PLs

·         Strong commitment to internal and external customer needs (emergent field and product line support)

·         Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments

·         Demonstrated commitment and after-hours support to field service operations emergent needs

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to direct others

·         Ability to work overtime outside of normal operational hours
