A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will be responsible for handling all commercial and financial topics to our sales and project management organization alongside the different business, such as Substation Projects (Greenfield, Replacement, Refurbishment, Extension), LTSA and O&M Contracts and Small orders. The position requires working in a dynamic environment, where financial expertise is brought to the bid, proposal, and contract execution processes. In this position you will also lead process improvements for commercial sales and commercial project manager.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Analyze business conditions and competition pricing; define business models considering customer requirements, business objectives, and tax regulations.
- Manage all commercial aspects of bids, including contract analysis, cost calculation, financing concepts, currency, hedging, risks/opportunities, bonds, payment terms, credit rating, insurances, export control, and compliance.
- Prepare and present Limits of Authority (LoA) in line with protocol, acting as a sparring partner for regions and bid teams; participate in T&C negotiations and lead commercial discussions in coordination with Legal, SFS, Insurance, Tax, and other departments.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide commercial support for assigned projects according to PM@SE guidelines and contractual agreements.
- Oversee project financials, including revenue recognition, monthly forecasting, risk and opportunity management, lessons learned, and optimization of profit margins and cash flow; ensure compliance with IFRS 15, local GAAP, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Foreign Exchange, and business model requirements.
- Perform general ledger activities, project-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, support internal/external audits, and actively manage the full scope of financial and commercial activities during the sales phase.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or equivalent experience is required.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Business Administration or in Finance, preferably with experience in Sales and Project Execution.
- Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, FRG, percentage of completion (PoC) accounting, and strong skills with Microsoft Office applications and SAP are required.
- Analytical thinking, result and quality-oriented approach, solid professional judgment and problem-solving ability is required competencies
- Knowledge in business analytics tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau or similar) as well as experience and curiosity about leveraging Artificial Intelligence to address business needs is considered a plus
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
