A Snapshot of your day

The Senior Welding Management Engineer ensures compliance with international codes, Siemens Energy standards, and customer requirements for all welding-related processes, while driving innovation and continuous improvement. This role also manages welding data systems, supplier and welder qualifications, technical documentation, and collaboration with regional and global teams to enhance local capabilities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop, approve, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), while leading welder qualification and standardizing welding practices across Siemens Energy Saudi Arabia Gas Services.
  • Support new product introductions by optimizing welding sequences and techniques, ensuring compliance with ASME, AWS, ISO, EN, and Siemens Energy internal welding standards.
  • Conduct weld inspections, audits, coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT), investigate welding non-conformities, implement corrective actions, and lead quality audits for suppliers and internal teams.
  • Implement Siemens Energy's digital welding management system for traceability, integrate welding data into digital platforms, and develop dashboards for real-time performance monitoring.
  • Evaluate and qualify welding-related suppliers, conduct capability assessments, support supplier development, and monitor their performance to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, provide technical training to welders and production teams, research and implement advanced welding technologies, and drive initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE); AWS CWI, ASME, or equivalent certifications; NDT Level II or III preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years in welding engineering or quality management roles in heavy manufacturing industries such as turbines, pressure vessels, boilers, or pipelines.
  • Proven expertise with ASME, AWS, TUV, DEKRA, and ISO welding standards.
  • Proficiency in advanced welding techniques like GTAW, SAW, FCAW, and orbital welding, as well as experience with digital welding management platforms and data analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material science, combined with excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
