A Snapshot of Your Day
You will serve as a Tosca automation specialist, driving model-based test automation for Siemens Energy’s PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions, particularly across Teamcenter / Active Workspace (AWC). The role blends technical test automation skills, agile delivery experience, and business process understanding to improve test coverage, efficiency, and quality in PLM projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design, develop, and execute automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca’s model-based test automation approach for functional, regression, integration, and API test scenarios.
- Build modular, reusable, and maintainable test cases, modules, and test data sets using Test Case Design (TCD) and Test Data Management (TDM), while adhering Tosca automation best practices.
- Contribute to test planning and test management activities to ensure adequate coverage, quality, and traceability.
- Analyze business processes and functional workflows, collaborate with SUT experts, and convert requirements into effective, scalable automated test designs.
- Troubleshoot automation issues—including environment failures, SUT defects, script errors, and performance‑related test automation adaptations—ensuring effective and sustainable resolutions.
- Integrating Tosca with other tools in the DevOps and CI/CD pipeline, such as Jenkins, Jira, or Git and support continuous testing initiatives.
- To work closely with developers, business analysts, SUT SMEs, and QA leads to ensure quality delivery and robust validation across releases.
- Ensure proper documentation of test cases, test results, standards, and automation guidelines.
- Guiding and supporting teams and stakeholders in adopting and implementing Tosca best practices and standards, through training and hands on experience.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Tricentis Tosca for test automation across web, desktop, or API applications, including its components like Tosca Commander, Tosca Executor, Qtest and Tosca BI.
- Strong foundation in model‑based test automation, encompassing reusable test case development, module creation, and comprehensive test data design
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize test execution workflows
- Familiarity with programming concepts to support customization and good understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing
- Thorough understanding of Tosca capabilities and functionalities such as API testing, CI/CD integration, exploratory testing, and risk-based testing
- Basic understanding of IT concepts including Windows, web technologies, HTML/CSS/JS, system behavior (SUT) and cross‑browser interactions.
- Experience working with Agile delivery teams and exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Git.
- Understanding of enterprise PLM systems—SUT-Teamcenter / Active Workspace (AWC) Experience in workflows and understanding Business Processes from our Customers.
- Knowledge of automation frameworks, DevOps practices, and continuous testing principles.
- Possesses excellent communication and documentation capabilities to enable effective coordination across distributed teams. Engages with functional SMEs to analyze business workflows and translate them into optimized, maintainable automated test scenarios.
