A Snapshot of Your Day

As Engineering Service Technical support for GIS´ Smart Spares, you will work in the project team to develop the technical solution according to customer requirements. This includes the entire process, starting with clarifying fundamental questions, identifying spare parts, defining materials and tools for repairing activities and minor modifications. Documenting best practices, standard procedures, and lessons learned. Particularly, your focus will be on our service “Smart Spares”, thereby you will develop spare part concepts, to optimize the inventory stock of our customer. In addition, you will help translate engineering technical elaborations into structured, governed data outputs that can be reused end-to-end (from inquiry to quotation and order execution), supporting standardization and data quality improvements.

How You’ll Make an

• Consult the “Smart Spares” service by developing a customer’s specific concept for spares, throughout the installed base in focus.
• Elaborate cross reference and compatibility charts for components/modules of same GIS families/generations and contribute to building/maintaining Smart E-kits libraries.
• Taking over the entire technical clarification process of customer inquiries of the product and project business for high-voltage switches/systems/devices in the field of GIS Switchgears and performing deeper analysis of engineering practices to enable standardization.
• Preparation of technical elaborations for parts as a basis for quotations or order processing in the product business, and translate key elements into structured datasets (e.g., part lists, attributes, compatibility rules) in alignment with data governance.
• To Contribute with data quality improvements by identifying recurring issues and standardizing descriptions and material usage.

What You Bring

• Successfully completed technical education with a focus on mechanical-electrical engineering or comparable.
• 3+ years of professional experience in the installation, design or maintenance of high-voltage switchgear (AIS and/or GIS technology). Clear understanding about the application and differences of HV equipment like interrupters, disconnectors, earthing switches, etc.
• Experience in mechanical drawing and assembly interpretation, BOMs.
• Ability to structure and standardize engineering outputs (e.g., parts lists, attributes, compatibility rules) for downstream reuse. Good knowledge of SAP.
• Affinity for data engineering topics (data quality, data modelling, and basic ETL/automation) and confidence working with structured and unstructured data.
• Strong communication and technical skills in interdisciplinary exchange with other technicians/engineers. Fluent English, both written and spoken.
