Most AI engineers build features. You build the systems those features depend on.
As a Staff AI Agent Engineer in Siemens Energy’s AI Factory, you’ll own entire agent products end-to-end – from research prototype to production – across an organisation whose technologies underpin an estimated one-sixth of the world’s electricity generation. Your agents won’t live in a sandbox. They’ll process real contracts, triage real engineering emails, and support project managers running multi billion-euro gas turbine installations. You’ll work in a small, high-autonomy team where shipping matters more than titles, and where the agents you build today will define how an entire industry works tomorrow. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring the benefits of Agentic AI to the day-to-day working lives of thousands of employees.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Own one or more AI agent products end-to-end – design, build, deploy, monitor, and iterate – ensuring they deliver measurable value across all business functions.
- Build production agents and tools from scratch in Python/TypeScript, including LLM fine-tuning and embedding adaptation, delivering them as stable services that teams across the organisation rely on daily.
- Stay at the frontier of agentic AI research – evaluate emerging techniques, run experiments, and translate relevant advances into production improvements across the Factory.
- Establish and evolve best practices for agent evaluation pipelines, RAG strategies, prompt optimisation, and caching – raising the quality bar for every agent shipped from the Factory.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, domain experts, and business stakeholders to translate complex industrial workflows into reliable agent behaviours.
- Contribute to the AI Agent Factory platform – reusable templates, shared tooling, and architectural patterns – so every new agent ships faster than the last.
What You Bring
- 6–9 years delivering AI/ML solutions in production, with demonstrable ownership of systems that are still running and generating value.
- A research-oriented mindset – you stay current with the latest in LLM and agentic AI research, proactively identify techniques that can improve production systems, and bring new ideas to the team. PhD or research background is a plus.
- Strong hands-on skills building production software in Python (TypeScript/Go a plus), with experience in LLM integration, fine-tuning, and embedding pipelines – not just prompt engineering.
- Experience deploying cloud-native AI workloads (AWS preferred – CDK, Serverless, Bedrock) with attention to cost, latency, and reliability.
- Hands-on expertise with LLM providers and frameworks: Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Hugging Face, LangChain/LangGraph.
- University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
