A Snapshot of Your Day  

This position is based at the Waipipi Wind Farm, located in New Zealand. The successful candidate must reside in the local area no further than 1 hours drive from the site.

Collaborating with the Site Lead Waipipi Wind Farm, your duties as a Service Technician will see you play a pivotal role in undertaking scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment, to ensure ongoing high availability of the wind farm for our client.  

 How You’ll Make an Impact  
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on wind turbine towers, including scheduled and unscheduled tasks  
  • Solve and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems such as pitch, speed control, and converters  
  • Lead tools and spare parts' inventory for installations and repairs  
  • Replace worn or faulty components and ensure accurate record keeping and reporting  
  • Demonstrate strong dedication to SGRE safety standards, with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills  
  • Possess electrical/mechanical aptitude, flexibility for on-call work, and comfortable working in small teams under varying wind conditions 

What You Bring  

  • Electrical trade qualification registered in New Zealand with an unrestricted NZ driver’s license.

  • Experienced in conducting Risk Assessments and preparing Safe Work Method Statements.

  • Strong safety and environmental awareness; comfortable working at heights.

  • Physically fit and skilled in using tensioning and bolt‑torquing tools.

  • Desirable: Experience in wind industry or large-scale industrial projects, EST qualification, and GWO certification.

  • Committed to safety, performance excellence, and delivering effective solutions with pride in the organization and industry.
