Are you an Engineer with knowledge in mechanical design, with a passion for data analysis & scripting, and a curiosity about problem-solving? Siemens Energy is on the hunt for a dedicated individual ready to join our Steam Turbine Service Engineering department in the Gas Service division. This is an opportunity to apply your skills in practice by assessing entire turbines and components, check for new and changing operation conditions, as well as developing monitoring concepts using data analytics for assessing maintenance requirements. In the role as Mechanical Engineer and Data Analyst at Siemens Energy, you will be immersed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will meet your colleagues in the office with the benefit of having an inspiring atmosphere and opportunity to discuss ongoing tasks and challenges at your projects. You'll then dive into your creative work, developing solutions for all kind of challenges in the varied field of Steam Turbine Service. By assessing findings on turbines and identifying service solutions, as well as developing service products for optimizing reliability and availability of steam turbines.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Assessing component conditions using full range of mechanical tool set incl. analytics, FEM-based methods including static and dynamic loads as well as fatigue and crack analysis
  • Bring profound knowledge on data analytics including scripting for automized assessing operational data and conclude on lifetime of components
  • Be the go-to person for product design teams as well as engineering backoffice for field service on-site teams, providing advice on re-work concepts and conclude on outage recommendations
  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary team and a multinational environment to ensure product optimization in accordance with comprehensive mechanical requirements, contributing to the greater vision of Siemens Energy
What You Bring
  • Master's degree or similar in design engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • Experience in the field of steam turbine design and mechanics preferred, including additional knowledge in steam turbine operation
  • Proficiency in mechanical analysis (analytical, FEM), knowledge in programming with Python and / or ‘R’
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Siemens PLM Teamcenter, SAP R/3
  • Very good command of the English language (both spoken and written skills), ready to connect with our global teams
  • High degree of pro-active, analytical, organizational and communication skills. Intercultural experience (USA, Germany, India) - we value a global perspective

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
