How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Senior Project Manager within Ireland, along with your Offshore (UK) counterparts, you will be responsible for, delivery of outages, operations support and order management to a range of clients with differing technology. The role is technically and commercially responsible for all assigned contracts whether long-term maintenance contracts or open-market one-off contracts.  In addition, you will also work closely with the Sales function to develop opportunities, interface with and manage key clients. 

The power generation landscape in Ireland is developing rapidly and the mix of technologies continues to evolve and that will shape this role as we move forward. The position will initially be as an individual contributor with the potential that it develops into a Line Management role as the portfolio increases.

  •  Act as focal point for all Customer issues concerning Siemens Energy’s thermal power generation rotating equipment fleet. Drive customer satisfaction and value add through ownership and entrepreneurship.
  •  Planning and safe delivery of all outages, overseeing the preparation and production of outage documentation, maintaining, and developing mitigation strategies for all pre-identified or emerging risks.
  •  Co-ordination of unscheduled maintenance activities and breakdowns ensuring that a structured and considered approach is adopted.
  •  Briefing of all personnel who shall travel to the Customer site. Conduct close monitoring of their activities whilst deployed and co-ordinate appropriate levels of support from back-office functions.
  •  Commercially responsible for the onshore portion of outages, order management and customer accounts with a focus on maximizing profitability through scope & risk management and upsell.
  •  Lead and participate in cross functional improvement projects and initiatives to drive solutions in accordance with business needs.
  •  Support Sales function by assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives to ensure project feasibility.
  •  Develop strategic relationships with the product centers to ensure the desired level of service is attained across the fleet.
  •  Contribute to data quality in all business systems associated with allocated customer accounts.
  •  Travel to customer sites around Ireland will be required, with occasional visits to UK and Germany.

What You Bring

  •  A proven track record in project management & delivery
  •  Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  •  Proven ability to work under pressure and to deliver
  •  Commercial and customer focused
  •  Attention to detail and including safety at work Zero Harm, (IOSH desirable)
  •  Strong negotiating skills
  •  Able to network and develop key relationships at all levels
  •  Excellent teamwork skills
  •  Preferable to be educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering or Project Management
  •  Industry qualifications (IPMA, PMP, APM, PRINCE2 or PMI) are desirable.
  •  Experience in use of Project Management tools OnePM, Excel, Microsoft Project, SAP, Salesforce or similar
  •  Background experience in one or more of the following: Thermal Power Generation, Gas Turbine Technology, Energy Industry, Energy Transition, Oil and Gas.

 Experience of operating in Power Generation service or maintenance environment would be advantageous.
