A Snapshot of Your Day

The GT GS entity (Grid Transmission & Solutions) builds turnkey electrical infrastructures for its customers in France and abroad: mainly high-voltage substations for network operators (TSO) and private customers (Datacenters & Industry) in Europe and Africa, HVDC conversion stations, and hybrid renewable power plants (photovoltaic, hydrogen and electrical storage batteries). Attached to the Project Management direction, within the Construction Service, you oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of the testing and commissioning activities for the entity's projects. You are a member of the site team and liaise with the back-office project's team based in Grenoble, which includes the project manager, design department, construction group, and QHSE.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• As responsible of a major milestone phase of the project, you ensure that the project meets its targets of quality and customer requirements
• You prepare the commissioning phase (time-schedule, staff, commissioning manuals, Inspection and Test Plan, testing tools) in our back office
• You execute the commissioning plan by testing the project equipment (and/or) :
• AC/DC Auxiliaries
• Control and Protection
• LV, MV & HV equipment (AIS and GIS)
• DCS/SCADA
• On site, you will be the commissioning team leader working along complementary commissioners and factory experts
• You behave with a problem-solving attitude, including troubleshooting, monitoring, documentation and communication of the work progress involving internal and external partners
• You develop strong relationship with our customers regarding ITP approval and site acceptance in coordination with the project management team
• You support the project management team in risk and claim management and ensuring quality and occupational safety on the construction site including non-conformance reporting (NCR)
• You contribute to internal improvement programs (e.g. Lean, Reviews and Lessons Learned)
• You are the key user of commissioning of the entity
• You ensure compliance with Siemens Energy EHS policy, contractual obligations, with Lock Out Tag Out, Permit to Work system, and local regulations

What You Bring

• University degree in Electrical engineering (bac +5), Energy engineering or comparable technical education and training with relevant professional experience
• Several years of professional experience in the field of commissioning or commissioning management (e.g. HVDC plants, power plants, AIS & GIS switchgear, power distribution systems)
• Readiness for worldwide business trips and long-term assignments, from several weeks to one year, on construction sites in France and abroad.
• Basic knowledge in the field of Project management
• Good knowledge of French and English is mandatory
• Positive conflict management, decision-making ability, result orientation, motivation and communication skills in international/intercultural teams
• Experience of main French customers (ENEDIS, EDF, RTE) is a plus
• Experience of construction sites located in Africa is a plus.
• Experience of construction sites of data center substation is a plus
