A Snapshot of Your Day
The primary responsibility is to develop budgetary and firm bids in close collaboration with the Authorized Bid Project Manager (APM) and the bidding team! This entails analyzing tender requirements and identifying, managing, and mitigating risks in commercial areas such as currency risks, financial security instruments, terms of payment, insurance, export control & customs, and compliance. The role also requires considering customer’s and tax requirements, including NCM and business models, to structure bids optimally. This involves guiding our regional colleagues in the onshore parts and crafting clear wall-to-wall calculations. The goal is to lead financial results according to set targets expertly, optimizing gross profit, cash flow, and assets in bids. Additionally, the Senior Commercial Bid and Sales Manager will support the selection and evaluation of business partners and lead the negotiation of commercial terms and conditions as well as consortium contracts in coordination with relevant departments (SE LC, SE TCF GDI / INS / TCF PR, etc.). Another important aspect of the role is supporting the regional head in preparing country and regional strategies for our hydrogen activities!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive customer focus by understanding and communicating market drivers for the Hydrogen market.
- Co-lead bid strategy for sophisticated projects with the Technical Sales Manager, delivering solutions that meet customer needs and crafting budgetary and firm bids.
- Implement financial and commercial activities during the sales phase based on SE’s Project Perfection Guide and other guidelines.
- Analyze tender requirements, lead and mitigate risks in commercial areas including currency risks, financial security instruments, terms of payment, insurance, export control & customs, and compliance.
- Structure bids considering customer and tax requirements, guiding regional colleagues, and developing open calculations.
- Be responsible for the negotiation of commercial terms and consortium contracts in coordination with relevant departments.
What You Bring
- BA/BS/master’s degree in business or accounting/finance plus 10+ years of experience in commercial sales or a similar role. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Sophisticated skills in bid preparation, taxes and NCM, contract negotiation, financing, accounting, and reporting principles, with an in-depth understanding of commercial sales processes and contract management.
- Standout colleague with a cross-functional and cross-organizational attitude, able to connect with people at all levels and comfortable working with a virtual organization.
- Experience dealing with corporate financial topics and supporting financial aspects of business development, with excellent communication and negotiation skills in business-fluent English and Spanish.
