A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Senior Buyer at Siemens Energy, you will be responsible to develop and deliver Procurement strategies for allocated commodities/Projects this will include developing supplier relationships, issuing Request for quotations, Supplier negotiations, selection and performance monitoring The role will report to the Procurement Manager and will require daily interaction with Project Management, Engineering, planning and site to ensure project deliverables are achieved
How You’ll Make an Impact
○ Responsibility for all procurement activities related to allocated scope on projects
○ Lead supplier selection process in conjunction with relevant cross functions
○ Source, assess, develop and build strong relationships with key suppliers
○ Manage quality and delivery of all purchases to project timescales
○ Ensure terms and conditions secured with suppliers in line with risk criteria
○ Actively support the tendering process to ensure competitiveness of supply chain offers
○ Build strong relationships with Internal partners (Project Management, Engineering, Proposals)
○ Proactively identify and raise awareness of potential supply chain risks and instigate actions to mitigate
- Act as a Commodity leader for allocated commodities
What You Bring
- Team player with good written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability manage multiple Commodities and Suppliers in a Project environment with a focus on programme compliance, cost, quality. health and safety
- Passion for supplier management and supplier development.
- Previous working experience in a Project based Procurement role with level 4 CIPS with a commitment to obtaining full CIPS qualification.
- Able to travel to suppliers and project sites (estimated travel 10-15%).
