Imagine stepping into a role where your expertise in electrical design transforms medium and high voltage substations across Finland, the Baltic, and Nordics. As a Secondary System Designer, you’ll engineer relay protection, control circuits, and auxiliary systems, ensuring every design meets stringent quality standards and project deadlines. Collaborate with diverse teams and optimally connect with collaborators, customers, interested parties, participants, and partners, all while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety laws. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design and engineer relay protection, control circuits, and auxiliary systems for substations.
- Prepare, review, and update technical documentation, drawings, and schematics.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet all requirements and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company guidelines, and safety regulations.
What You Bring
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering for an Electrical Technician role.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Eplan) and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in English; Finnish or Estonian language skills are an asset.
- Willingness to travel to project sites if needed; valid driving license.

Join a dynamic team of over 80 engineers across Finland, Estonia, Norway, and Sweden, dedicated to delivering high voltage distribution substations. Collaborate closely with four expert engineering managers and report directly to the Head of Engineering for the Nordics and Baltic. Our Grid Technology division is central to Siemens Energy’s mission to enable a reliable, balanced, and digital energy grid, offering solutions in HVDC transmission, grid stabilization, storage, high voltage switchgears, transformers, and digital grid technology.
