How to contribute to our vision

This position is a replacement to ensure business continuity for the Internal Design team within Mechanical Design Guangzhou, part of the Transformers business area. The role is essential for maintaining the team's capacity to deliver mechanical engineering designs for transformer projects. To meet this objective, the role is structured around three core areas: Mechanical Design and Development, Technical Documentation and BOM Management, and Cross-Functional Collaboration. This focus ensures the creation of detailed and accurate transformer designs, the generation of precise manufacturing documentation, and effective coordination with production and procurement teams. Given the focus on transformer design, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience as a professional in a relevant field. Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD software and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes are critical requirements for success in this role.

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • 60% Mechanical Design and Development
    • Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for transformer components and assemblies (e.g., tanks, cooling systems, core structures) using CAD software.
    • Apply mechanical engineering principles to perform basic calculations for structural integrity, tolerance, and material selection.
    • Develop and refine mechanical designs based on customer specifications, industry standards, and internal design rules.
    • Participate in design reviews to present and discuss design concepts, ensuring feasibility and optimization for manufacturing.
  • 20% Technical Documentation and BOM Management
    • Generate and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all mechanical components and assemblies in the company's ERP system.
    • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation packages, including assembly instructions and parts lists, to support manufacturing and procurement.
    • Ensure all drawings and documents are properly version-controlled and archived according to company procedures.
  • 20% Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support
    • Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical and electrical components.
    • Provide technical support and clarification to the manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams during the production lifecycle.
    • Assist in investigating and resolving design-related issues identified during manufacturing or testing.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a mechanical design or product engineering role.
  • Experience in the design of heavy industrial equipment, power systems, or transformers is highly advantageous.
