A Snapshot of Your Day

Resident Engineer at Siemens Energy

The Resident Engineer is responsible for supporting the customer with the day-to-day reliable operation of their steam turbines and generators, planning maintenance, conducting root cause analysis and spare parts inventory management. This will require you to do daily maintenance and operational activities, support the service centre engineering team with field surveys and implementation of resolutions, plan maintenance outages, considering tools, labour and other vital resources

How You’ll Make an Impact  

  • Serve as the primary Point of Contact between the customer and all project stakeholders, including field service teams and subcontractors.
  • Assist the customer with hands-on daily maintenance and operational activities.
  • Act as the on-site representative of Project Management, coordinating planned service events (e.g., intermediate, minor, major inspections) support with root cause analysis, and responding to any unplanned events.
  • Coordinate the logistics for Siemens Energy Field Service Personnel, including arrivals, departures, and lodging on-site.
  • Manage spare parts holding and handling on-site, ensuring efficient logistical arrangements.
  • Support the inspection of tools, equipment, and spare parts deliveries.
  • Handle project-related consumables, including communication with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, tracking consumption, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure steam turbine or generator outage activities align with the Project Schedule.
  • Assist with project controls tasks, including cost tracking.
  • Provide feedback to support the continual improvement of project management processes.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with Siemens Energy's Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), and Quality standards.
  • Supervise and support the project team in coordinating all project-related activities effectively.

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical qualification.
  • 15+ years of proven track record in a related field for both small (<20MW) and large (100MW<) steam turbines and generators.
  • Previous experience in the power generation field is preferred.

        Solid understanding of Coal Fired Power Plant, Balance of Plant, Generators, Steam Turbines, Control Systems and related Auxiliaries.

        Strong leadership experience in maintenance planning and root cause analysis.

        Strong business & technical competence

  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Broad commercial and contractual understanding to successfully interact with customers, management / colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Analytical thinking, decision making, result oriented and good communication skills.
