A Snapshot of Your Day

You will contribute to our business’ success by being responsible for and improving thermal spray processes by new sophisticated inspection methods applying digital technologies and data analysis methods. You will help increase the efficiency and accuracy of quality control processes and ensure that all products meet established quality requirements. In addition, the selected candidate will maintain machine reliability and predictive maintenance tools to support planned production targets and avoid unplanned repair work and machine downtime. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of manufacturing processes for thermal spray coatings in the Charlotte Combustion department.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Improve and develop new thermal spray coating inspection and test methods to improve product quality
  • Implement and lead a digital monitoring system for quality assurance and preventative maintenance
  • Integrate sensors, IoT devices and data analysis tools into the production process for real-time monitoring of production lines
  • Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action as required
  • Train production personnel in new testing methods and digital monitoring systems and update manufacturing instructions as required
  • Collaborate and work closely with other departments, including production, R&D, IT and maintenance.
  • Eventually roll out inspection methods and takeaways within the Siemens Energy network

What You Bring

  • Candidate should have a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or other related field and 5 years of tried experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Experience in the development and application of HVOF or APS coating processes is an advantage in addition to Knowledge of Robot Studio or offline programming
  • Preferred knowledge of mechanical testing methodologies and metallurgical examination and evaluation practices
  • Professional experience in quality assurance. Additional certifications in related fields are an advantage as well as knowledge of materials in the field of inorganic non-metallic materials (ceramics, ceramic coatings)
  • Familiarity with Lean and or Six Sigma philosophies
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and work off-shifts when required

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
