A Snapshot of Your Day
As a R&D Engineer for Power Transformers – winding design, you will contribute to the global development of standardized and modular winding solutions for power transformers. Working within an international development team, you will define and support technical rules, design principles, and engineering solutions that enable sustainable, cost-effective, and timely implementation across Siemens Energy factories worldwide. You will also participate in R&D projects within the Product Management organization and provide technical support to regional engineering and factory teams.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape global winding design standards, influence solutions used across multiple power transformer factories and contribute directly to Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy infrastructure.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Collaborate within a global R&D and factory network to develop, validate, and implement winding design solutions that support innovation, manufacturability, and regional business needs.

Drive standardization and modularization initiatives by developing, improving, and implementing transformer winding design rules for specific applications and factory requirements.

Provide technical guidance to regional factory sites and engineering teams, including support for design clarification, implementation questions, and operational issue resolution related to winding design.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area).
- Detailed knowledge of design in a CAD environment (e.g. AutoCAD). Previous experience with CREO / NX and BOM structures and PDM systems such as Windchill or Teamcenter is considered a plus.
- Working experience as a transformer design engineer with a focus on winding and winding assembly design is considered a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and experience preparing designs, including 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials. Experience with transformer electrical design is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, with a structured and independent approach to solving complex technical problems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with global team members, regional engineering teams, factories, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for technical documentation, communication, and data-driven engineering analysis.
- Previous experience within international project teams is considered a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written English. German is considered a plus.
