A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Manager for Generator business you will start your day by checking the status of the projects you are responsible for. You may meet with customers on-site and escort them to the factory to see their equipment. You will prepare for and report out in customer meetings, work on monthly project reports, and participate in weekly collaborative production meetings with factory operations personnel.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Direct and coordinate all activities required for timely delivery of generator service projects, including major sub-components and new replacement components up to and including the full generator.
  • Work with Tendering, Gas Services (GS SV), Proposals, and Region AM/ROW counterparts to clarify technical work and resources necessary to satisfy order requirements.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to the project.
  • Support the Siemens Energy, Gas services - Service group and Americas Region and Rest of World Project Managers in meetings with the Customer and facilitate Customer Witness activities.
  • Respond to requests for quotation and support negotiations for additional scope following order entry and throughout the product warranty phase.
  • Create Extra Work Requests or Project Change Notices, present to customers, and execute change orders once approved.
  • Coordinate and review software and hardware deliverables, and report on project performance, including financial status and risk mitigation.
  • Notify product line management when the product or service does not meet order/contractual requirements. Ensure that projects meet cost targets, scope requirements, and schedule. Take mitigating action when there are discrepancies.
  • Act as an advisor to top management and business partners on technical matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or non-technical degree with 8 or more years of related experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Project Management or Generator Product or Manufacturing. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done on time, with high quality and minimal direct supervision
  • Expert written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • 3 or more years of MS Project (or equivalent) experience required
  • PM@Siemens or PMI Certified (preferred) or willing to get it in the first year of employment
  • 3-5 or more years of SAP experience (preferred).
  • Required travel up to 5%.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
