A Snapshot of Your Day

The Project Design Engineer is a central member of the mechanical design team, developing creative, robust, reliable and cost-effective design solutions to address the challenge of achieving component producibility. The environment is dynamic, fast paced, challenging and motivating. You are entrusted with meeting suppliers to understand constraints, working to propose how definitions can be constructed to enable manufacturing approaches that meet supplier and engineering expectations. You will be technically leading a team to a stage where their concepts are verified against product requirements using structured verification and risk management processes, within the framework of our product development process.

You are part in achieving the company´s product strategies, namely providing component manufacturing approaches for our aeroderivative gas turbine product designs that are reliable and responding to the world’s ever- changing energy demands.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• You will study customer needs and fleet reports to generate design approaches and solutions to the daily business requirements.
• You will meet with component suppliers to understand how we can jointly succeed.
• You will work with other design specialists in analytical and manufacturing fields to develop optimized design solutions to address business requirements.
• You will look for opportunities to build on prior knowledge when generating solutions
• You will be responsible to collaborate and support your team technically to understand how the design direction affects projects and technical risk.
• As your design solutions approach production you will take part in work validation and introduction.
• In response to field failures you will take a main part of root cause analysis assessments to support your projects and other team members projects.
• You will be technical leader and mentor for less expert engineers in the team.

What You Bring

• You have a Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aeronautical or similar
• You have the legal right to work in Mexico
• You are proficient in both English and Spanish
• You have 10 years of experience in a gas turbine design team discipline, including experience working with manufacturing to reduce cost and lead time through design activity.
• You are interested in gas turbine technology and how it can be developed to remain a relevant technology through the energy transition
