A Snapshot of Your Day

The Production Supervisor manages the Rotor Assembly manufacturing area within a Siemens Energy Gas Turbine plant, using operational metrics to drive daily performance. This role leads production teams to deliver products safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, scheduling, line balancing, build control, and minimizing scrap and rework, with accountability for meeting customer production and quality requirements. The supervisor also drives continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing, while serving as the primary liaison for production-related issues. Success requires strong leadership to motivate a diverse team and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Enforce a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, addressing violations, and promoting adherence to all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Analyze daily production performance, collaborate with supervisors to resolve operational issues, and maintain strong cross-functional communication to ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Manage workforce planning, including staff allocation, training of new or transferred employees, coordination of temporary labor, and oversight of attendance records.
  • Oversee production scheduling and resource allocation, including authorizing overtime and making real-time decisions to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production metrics and performance against operating plans, using data-driven insights to improve efficiency, reduce scrap and rework, and achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide effective leadership by supporting employee development, resolving personnel issues (including disciplinary actions when required), and driving continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and operational excellence programs.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy assembly, tensioning, crane lifting and machining. Manufacturing experience in scheduling, line supervision, industrial engineering, or production control, is a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree (BS/BA) or Associates Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and or 5S.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and Quality Control systems. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment is preferred.
  • Excellent, demonstrated experience with computers and Microsoft Office software. Conflict resolution experience with an hourly workforce is preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
