A Snapshot of Your Day 

As Product Safety Officer in the Execution Unit Transformers, you are part of the EQS Team and responsible for maintaining an effective Global Product Safety Management System. This includes defining global product‑ and business‑specific safety requirements and supporting global development projects within the Siemens Energy Product Safety Community. You lead the global Product Safety organization of the Execution Unit, overseeing the planning, execution, analysis, and improvement of product safety measures. Through audits and gap analyses, you ensure compliance with regulatory and IMS requirements, with the authority to stop processes in cases of non‑compliance.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Maintenance and further development of the Product Safety Management System, including preparation of product‑safety‑related process instructions across the product lifecycle
  • Ensuring product conformity by establishing effective systems, identifying regulatory requirements, and involving subject matter experts to secure compliance with relevant standards
  • Collaboration with Quality Management in planning and conducting internal audits, including risk assessments, investigations of non‑conformities, and follow‑up activities
  • Identification of training needs and provision of Product Safety training to strengthen safety awareness and culture within the organization
  • Establishment of systems for product monitoring, evaluation, and management of product safety issues for products in service or on the market, ensuring clear communication with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Definition and tracking of Product Safety KPIs, contribution to process quality improvements, and global implementation of risk‑based thinking through audits, assessments, and risk‑culture initiatives
What You Bring
  • Independent work approach with proactive exploration of new specialist topics and active cooperation with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Performance of risk estimations and evaluations for industrial products, including identification of key interfaces and application of methods such as HAZOP, RAPEX, or FMEA
  • Academic background in engineering (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, quality assurance) combined with extensive professional experience in quality and safety management, ideally in the power grid industry
  • Expertise in the requirements, application, and certification of Integrated Management Systems (IMS, ISMS), including Lead Auditor experience for internal and external audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and SE‑auditor certification
  • Creative contribution to organizational development through re‑design of existing processes, methods, and tools, and development of new approaches and solutions
  • Professional proficiency in English, with German language skills as an advantage
