A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Process and Industrial Engineer specializing in Repair and Finishing, you will play a key role in developing, improving, and standardizing repair and finishing processes for wind turbine blade manufacturing. You will support production teams by resolving process-related challenges, optimizing manufacturing methods, and introducing new technologies, tooling, and equipment. Working closely with manufacturing and engineering stakeholders, you will help improve blade quality, reduce repair time and costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and safety. 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop and implement effective repair and finishing solutions for the restoration of blade geometry and manufacturing defects.
  • Lead the implementation and standardization of manufacturing processes, repair methodologies, equipment, and tooling across production operations.
  • Benchmark industry repair and finishing techniques and introduce innovative production processes to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Support production teams with fault finding, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and recommendations for repair methodologies.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives focused on reducing Repair Index, improving blade quality, and increasing manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop, test, qualify, and specify new processes, materials, equipment, and documentation to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate the deployment of new pre-manufacturing and production process solutions within operational environments.
  • Initiate, lead, and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects across the production facility.
  • Plan workflows, production processes, and safety measures to ensure the efficient and safe utilization of manufacturing resources.
  • Compile and analyze production data using Excel and Power BI to support decision-making and process improvements.

What You Bring:

  • Degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent HNC qualification with relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes within a production environment.
  • Experience managing process improvement and equipment-related projects within manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on experience working with composite materials and repair processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience creating work instructions, risk assessments, process documentation, and user guides.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data and translate insights into practical process improvements.
  • Proven ability to initiate, implement, and sustain change initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating people, projects, and processes while coaching and supporting others in continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a practical approach to manufacturing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
