A Snapshot of Your Day
Power Diagnostics® Services Monitoring Engineer will review daily the results generated from our monitoring infrastructure to proactively investigate / diagnose issues that can impact operation for their assigned GT/ST/Generator units and communicate recommendations with support from engineering as necessary to our customers. Monitoring Engineers are also responsible for providing technical support in response to inquiries from our customers regarding operational issues.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Monitoring power plant operating data to detect and address operational and hardware issues, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
  • Detailing and reporting observations to customers, providing clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Supporting customers with on-demand operational issues.
  • Proposing diagnostics rules to improve automatic abnormal operations alerts.
  • Contributing to the development of new monitoring software tools.
  • Collaborating closely with our service and engineering teams during scheduled and forced outages.
  • Occasionally traveling to sites to perform troubleshooting or fix issues if required.

What You Bring
  • BS/BA in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in power plant operations with proven expertise in responsibilities and knowledge stated above.
  • Proficient in operations of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators in power generation applications.
  • Understanding of Siemens Energy T3000 platforms, Emerson Ovation/WDPF, or equivalent DCS-based control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for frequent customer interactions.

You will join a vibrant and driven team that extends across central departments in Germany and the USA, as well as regional teams in different countries. Our team is committed to assisting Siemens Energy's worldwide fleet monitoring responsibilities, collaborating closely with AP teams on outage, sales, and marketing initiatives. Additionally, you will work with field service and project management teams in Taiwan to create value for our business and meet customer needs.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
