A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is in Service Engineering working on Plant and Flexibility Assessments including nuclear lifetime extensions. This is an engineering position that will support the mechanical equipment evaluation for the operating fleet of large utility generators. The fleet is composed of nuclear, fossil, and combined cycle machines of Siemens Energy, Westinghouse, Allis Chalmers, Parsons, and other-OEM design. The scope of responsibility encompasses solution development, solution integration but also handle engineering projects & engineering studies to support the bidding as well as negotiation phase with customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Technical project lead and direct support of service customer requests on Nuclear Plant Assessment efforts along with Combined Cycle Power Plant and Flexibility assessments
  • Coordinate project-specific plant optimization or engineering studies and provide leadership, guidance and direction to the project team when it comes to integration of solutions!
  • Contribution (manage) on Service-relevant Nuclear Lifetime extension R&D program and projects and further activities relevant for the Service organization, setting milestones and budget targets and ensure project compliance
  • Support Business Development, Marketing and Sales with technical input on respective technologies and ensure alignment between market and solution development
  • Coordinate Engineering resources for technical integration of plant solutions, structuring projects into work packages.
  • Be technical point of contact to all service regions, especially region North and Latin America and support customer interactions and/or site visits for startup witness evaluation and solution implementation.

What You Bring

  • University Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering or equivalent and extensive experience in the Power Generation Service sector, preferably in Engineering, as well as solid basic knowledge of power plant, processes, large rotating equipment (GT, GN, ST) frames and configurations and power plant working principles, operations and maintenance concepts, preferably with experience on onsite commissioning and tuning on Combined Cycle Power Plants
  • Good knowledge of internal processes regarding service implementation, product development (R&D) and bidding and solid global network within Siemens Energy Gas Services and, possibly other Business Areas
  • Project Management skills such as ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team and intercultural competence.
  • Ability to interface directly with customers, field personnel, back-office personnel, and management (strong customer orientation).
  • Highly self-motivated individual with a proactive approach to identifying and developing new solutions while encouraging a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and strong cross-functional collaboration skills across verticals and dedication to help others become successful.
