A Snapshot of Your Day

This role is an addition to the Sales Application & Offer Management team in Eastern Europe, created to support the team's extended responsibilities. The position is vital for managing complex bids and proposals to drive business growth within the Grid Technologies Service division, focusing on the Romanian market. To address this need, the role centers on three core areas: comprehensive management of the end-to-end bid and proposal lifecycle, strategic development of commercial and contractual terms, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure proposal integrity. This structure ensures that all offers are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

Given the focus on complex proposal management and strategic negotiation, the ideal candidate will posses extensive experience in contract, bid, and proposal management, preferably within the energy or industrial service sector. Essential requirements include advanced negotiation, project management, and analytical skills, coupled with a deep understanding of pricing strategies and commercial risk assessment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 50% Bid and Proposal Management
    • Manage the end-to-end creation of complex bids, proposals, and tender responses for service solutions in the Grid Technologies sector.
    • Analyze customer requirements (RfQs/RfPs) to develop a clear win strategy and define the scope, timeline, and deliverables of the offer.
    • Coordinate and consolidate input from various departments, including sales, engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure a cohesive and compelling proposal.
    • Ensure all proposals are compliant with internal policies, quality standards, customer specifications, and submission deadlines.
  • 30% Commercial and Contractual Strategy
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies and commercial models for proposals, balancing market competitiveness with profitability targets.
    • Lead the negotiation of contractual terms and conditions with customers, in close collaboration with legal and sales teams, to secure favorable agreements.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, technical, and contractual risks associated with each bid throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • 20% Stakeholder Collaboration and Process Improvement
    • Act as the central point of contact for all proposal-related activities, facilitating clear communication between internal teams and external customers.
    • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals, providing guidance on proposal best practices and processes.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of bid management processes, tools, and documentation to enhance efficiency and quality.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • Extensive professional experience (typically 5-8 years) in bid management, proposal development, or contract management, preferably within the energy or industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex technical and commercial proposals from inception to submission.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Romanian or other Eastern European languages is an advantage.
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Expertise in bid and contract management, including negotiation, pricing strategies, technical writing, value proposition development, and subcontracting management to support competitive proposals, effective contract execution, and successful business outcomes.
  • Strong project and process management capabilities, including program management, workflow management, process improvement, and continuous improvement practices to drive operational excellence, optimize performance, and ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Well‑developed business and analytical capabilities, including analytical thinking, business development, customer relationship management, and sales analysis to support strategic decision‑making, customer growth, and commercial performance.
