A Snapshot of your day
A day in the life of a shift technician at a power plant begins with a handover from the previous shift, followed by routine inspections of equipment like turbines and generators. They supervise control systems, resolve issues, and perform repairs as needed. Collaboration with engineers and participation in safety meetings are common, along with detailing findings for clear communication. Day wraps up with final equipment checks and a debriefing to ensure a smooth transition for the next shift.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsible for supervising plant conditions in the field, taking readings, conducting/resetting isolation measures, responding to emergency situations, carrying out minor repair works (valve/pump packing tightening etc.).
- Plant availability, compliance with work plan and plant safety laws, compliance with engineering procedures.
- Apply computerized Plant Management System BFS++ when reporting faults and performing work on site.
- Continuously improving technical knowledge by attending training courses acquiring additional job-related licenses
- Support other departments wherever practical and possible.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in power plants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Technical knowledge and competence, including experience in power plants.
- Certifications in Boiler Operator class A and operation of fast paced equipment.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
