Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in Charlotte, NC to support the compressor components and engine assembly CoCs(Centers of Competency) of the large generator Charlotte plant.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Provide crucial support to planned and forced outages for the gas turbine fleet globally.
  • Perform part reviews to ascertain condition to specify appropriate repair processes.
  • Oversee the repair and manufacturing for any part variation and make appropriate corrections to the process to meet design requirements.
  • Support production activities by getting answers to process questions and working thru established processes to resolve product non-conformance issues.
  • Develop and deliver technical information documents, estimates, reports or training documentation.
  • Deliver process or design definition and interpretation and assessment of specs and requirements.
  • Identify and justify projects for improving manufacturing capability, yields, productivity, and capacity.
  • Use lean manufacturing principles.
  • Design, commission, and qualify custom tools, jigs, fixtures and tests, gage R&R as required.
  • Support engineering design changes via involvement with the change management process for new products.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: assembly and service of large gas turbines;
  • Develop and deliver technical information documents, estimates, reports or training documentation;
  • Deliver process or design definition and interpretation and assessment of specifications and requirements;
  • Ability to identify and justify projects for improving manufacturing capability, yields, productivity, and capacity;
  • Lean manufacturing principles;
  • Design, commission, and qualify custom tools, jigs, fixtures and tests, gage R&R;
  • Support engineering design changes via involvement with the change management process for new products;
  • 3D modeling experience with Siemens NX;
  • Gas turbine components with experience in at least one of the following areas: design, manufacturing, service or repair.
