A Snapshot of Your Day
As an IT/OT & Cyber Security Engineer for HVDC Systems you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to design and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new transient network analysis laboratory located in Raleigh.
You will work with the Engineering Manager – HVDC C&P and will be required to provide engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide Project Engineering "IT Security" for HVDC control & protection systems (Development & Implementation of IT - security concepts based on international standards for control systems of HVDC plants)
- Create and maintain of project specific technical specifications, documents & manuals.
- Clarification of IT-security concepts with internal departments and external suppliers and customers.
- Plan and conduct project-specific IT-security audits, threat-risk workshops, and penetration tests, including evaluation of countermeasures.
- System integration and commissioning of the specific components (e.g. firewalls) in the test lab (Verification of proper rule settings and hardening measures).
- Conduct/ support Factory Acceptance Tests with sub suppliers and customers.
- Provide technical support during commissioning phases.
What You Bring
- BS Degree in electrical engineering or IT networking / communication technology.
- Several years of work experience in the area of IT security for industrial networks (Requirements, Plan/ conduct audits, etc.).
- Experience in project engineering, customer clarification, working in complex teams.
- Understanding for SCADA systems as part of energy transmission system (Substations, etc.).
- Theoretical know-how of TCP/IP, routing, switching, network separation, zone concepts, etc.
- Configuration of Switches, routers, firewalls from manufacturer CISCO, Rugged Com, Checkpoint, etc.
- IT Security for IT networks, regulations and hardening measures to fulfill the same
- Security standards (NERC-CIP, BDEW)
- Security of IT components, networks and applications in theory (Threat analysis) and practice (penetration testing)
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel on business and abroad to deliver the system to the customer.
