A Snapshot of Your Day
The Protection & Control Engineer oversees relay protection and control engineering tasks, including the detailed design of transmission FACTS and HVDC projects. This role provides an opportunity to directly apply the candidate’s expertise in protective relaying and control systems within transmission projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop Protection & Control Conceptual Document (i.e. P&C single line diagram, Interlocking logic, Trip loc)
- Develop AC/DC Schematic Diagrams and Interconnection Diagram
- Perform protection coordination study incl. determination of correct protection settings.
- Develop Bill of Material and Panel Layout for FACTS Protection and Control Panel
- Develop wiring diagrams.
- Develop Control Cable List.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Test for Protection and Control Panels.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Experience with a focus on protection & control/communications design for transmission & medium or high voltage substations.
- Knowledge on ANSI standards, IEC standards knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substation. protection, including SEL, Siemens, Reyrole.
- Proficient in English Language, strong communication skills, teamwork and dedicated.
- Willingness to spend several days at customer sites and willingness to travel internationally (approx. 30%).
