A Snapshot of Your Day
As the EHS Specialist – Chemicals, your day will involve ensuring the safe and compliant handling of chemicals and materials through evaluation, risk assessment, and implementation of EHS standards, both globally and locally, with a focus on occupational health, exposure, and process safety. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain high safety standards and drive continuous improvement in chemical management practices.

How You’ll Make an Impact
• Conduct HSE evaluations of new materials based on global standards to ensure correct implementation and local application.
• Evaluate new chemicals, including epoxy systems, fillers, adhesives, and paints, while collaborating with global and local chemical suppliers.
• Manage local chemicals for development and workshop use, conducting evaluations of products with limited/global applications.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of epoxy and PPE procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing between local and global best practices.
• Perform theoretical and measurement-based exposure assessments (e.g., dust and noise from grinding), planning and executing measurements in production.
• Assess exposure from chemicals and processes, ensuring follow-up on operational measurements.
• Collaborate with production to specify requirements for extraction and ventilation, participating in the design of new and upgraded ventilation systems.
• Assess and implement appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), particularly for hazardous chemicals, testing new solutions in production and laboratories.
• Evaluate materials’ EX properties and maintain ATEX risk assessments, conducting local ATEX evaluations of facilities and materials.
• Ensure oversight of used chemicals and updated safety data sheets, maintaining the chemical database and safety documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Act as project manager when handling complex scenarios with mutable stakeholders.
• Advise on occupational health-related issues and coordinate health examinations as needed, engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration on workplace safety.

What You Bring
• Solid experience in chemical engineering and EHS practices.
• Knowledge of exposure assessment and occupational health measurements.
• Experience with ventilation and process extraction systems.
• Familiarity with PPE and ATEX regulations.
• Experience in risk assessment and safety data sheets.
• Strong analytical and structured approach.
• Excellent collaboration skills (locally and globally).
• Curious and winning mindset.
• Strong communication skills.
