Snapshot of Your Day

We’re building a high-performance team at our new Charlotte facility—and we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Data Specialist to help us get it right from the start.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of PLM (Teamcenter) and SAP systems for material master and BoM creation, data quality best practices, and a proven track record of successfully maintaining engineering master data. The Material Master Specialist reports to Engineering Manager, working under supervision but expected to prioritize own workload and ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales.

This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage and maintain product data across PLM and ERP systems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support engineering teams in creating and updating Material Masters and EBOMs.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance with internal standards, and alignment with Engineering Change Management processes.
  • Handle SAP Material Master data, including creation, maintenance, and governance for all material types.
  • Extract, transform, and validate data from engineering tools to ensure consistency across systems.
  • Implement quality control measures and document project timelines and outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with SAP ECC or S/4HANA Material Master data & BoM is required. Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and Fiori apps is desirable
  • 2+ years of experience working with a PLM tool for Material Master and BoM is required. Teamcenter strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding and experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM) process
  • Proven experience with data cleansing, mass data updates, and data validation techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams in global environments
  • If not already located in or around the Charlotte, NC area, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
