A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Safety Engineer (Second Shift), you will conduct daily walkthroughs to identify potential hazards and verify compliance with safety regulations in the switchgear assembly area. Manage contractors. Manage emergency response (brigades, emergency plans, drills, etc.). Manage incidents and guide their investigations to determine the root cause. Develop safety training and risk analysis programs. Participate in internal and external audits and follow up on the closure of findings. Promote and multiply the zero-harm culture and prepare reports for EHS Manager on safety trends.

- : You will implement preventative measures that will reduce the frequency and severity of incidents, protect employee well-being, and reduce costs associated with accidents.
- You will ensure that the company complies with all Mexican and international environmental and safety regulations, avoiding fines, penalties, and closures.
- You will identify opportunities to optimize operations from an EHS perspective, contributing to operational efficiency.
- You will develop awareness programs that will transform employee attitudes toward safety, creating a safer work environment.
- : You will develop contingency and emergency plans that will allow the company to maintain its operations even in adverse situations.
- You will conduct tours of the production floor and be responsible for safety during second-shift operations at the switch factory.
What You Bring
- Academic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of one year working in the manufacturing industry (100% operative).
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Constant focus on optimizing processes and safety systems.
- Cultural Adaptability: Ability to align with German quality and safety standards, adapting them to the Mexican context.
- Results-Oriented: Focus on achieving positive metrics on key EHS indicators.
Technical Skills
- Management Systems: Basic knowledge of ISO 45001 standards, as well as their practical implementation.
- Regulatory Framework: Mastery of Mexican environmental and industrial safety legislation (NOM, STPS, SEMARNAT) and international standards.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
- Incident Investigation: Methodologies for root cause analysis and determining corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Lean applied to EHS.
- Digital Competence: Mastery of specialized EHS management software and ability to implement digital solutions.
- Technical Communication: Ability to translate complex technical requirements into understandable language for different levels of the organization.
- Data Analysis: Ability to interpret safety metrics and trends for informed decision-making.
- Languages: English desirable
