A Snapshot Of Your Day
Working within our advanced manufacturing facility in Worcester, you will operate and maintain our precision Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment, supporting the production of high-quality components for cutting-edge energy applications. Your work will contribute to delivering exceptional results for our customers while collaborating closely with engineers and colleagues to continuously improve processes.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Operate and maintain a range of EDM machines to produce precision parts in line with engineering specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to deliver accurate machining outcomes.
- Monitor machining operations, making adjustments to maintain quality and precision.
- Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting on EDM machines.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Accurately document production data and report issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and the wider team to optimise machining processes and output.
What You Bring
- Proven experience operating EDM machines, ideally with exposure to Sodick ALC800C, Sodick VL600QH, Agie Charmilles Cut AM 500, and/or Excetek V1280 models.
- Strong understanding of EDM processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly to technical challenges.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Relevant technical certification or equivalent practical experience.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
