A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our Remote Diagnostic Center as a Diagnostic Rules Engineer/Technical Analyst! In this role, your day will be dynamic and impactful, centered on developing and deploying innovative analytics to detect failure modes in Gas & Steam Turbines. You’ll examine sensor data to uncover early deviations, playing a vital part in preventing forced outages and ensuring dependable turbine operation. You’ll be responsible for continuously enhancing current analytics and devising new methods to tackle additional failure modes, all while partnering with Domain Experts to better understand fleet challenges and how analytics can anticipate them. Your efforts will directly shape our remote diagnostic services, driving improvements that benefit our customers and support Siemens Energy’s mission.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Continually improve current analytics and design new solutions to detect further failure modes, enabling proactive identification of potential issues.
- Collaborate with Domain Experts (including Vibration, Performance, and Combustion & Controls specialists) to assess fleet issues and determine how analytics can identify them promptly.
- Develop innovative analytics using internal analytics tools and programming languages such as Python or block programming.
- Support Diagnostic Engineers by providing them with advanced analytics.
- Maintain and optimize existing analytics to ensure they stay effective and relevant.
What You Bring
- An engineering degree in mechanics, electronics, control systems, data science, or equivalent experience.
- Technical experience with Gas & Steam turbines, with familiarity in the MGT fleet (SGT600-SGT800) being a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, enabling effective communication with team members and customers.
- The ability to work with large datasets and time series data, utilizing analysis tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) to interpret information.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to master complex systems.
- Experience with Python and block programming; knowledge of machine learning is considered a plus.

Our Remote Diagnostic Center team is committed to monitoring the operation of Gas & Steam Turbines manufactured in Finspång. With a diverse group of 18 engineers in Sweden and 6 engineers in Thailand, we combine a broad range of nationalities, backgrounds, and skills.
